NFL weekend picks

Home Teams in Bold - last week I went 6-8. Not great but it was a very tough week and I expect better results this week.

San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs (+5) - Chiefs won last week against the terrible redskins and the Chargers lost to the surprisingly 6-0 Broncos. While the Chargers aren't the force to be reckoned with that they were once thought to be, I still believe they are much better than they have been playing. I expect to see the old Chargers this Sunday, or at least the Chiefs will allow them to look that good.

My Pick: Chargers -5 (Drew Singer disagrees with this, we shall see)

Indianapolis Colts vs St. Louis Rams (+13.5) - 6-0 Colts vs 0-6 Rams. Do I need to say more?

My Pick: Colts -13.5

Chicago Bears vs. Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5) - Shit, I really don't even know. I'm partial to the Bears, they lost to Green Bay and Atlanta, two teams who they could beat on any given day. The Bengals, how do you beat the Ravens one week and then get blown out by the Texans the next, I don't get it. I think the Bengals are definitely much better than last year but I still don't believe they are legit.

My Pick: Bears +1.5

Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns (+9) - Green Bay was at -7 earlier in the week, clearly the Vegas guys thought that 2 more points would scare most betters off. Not me. Browns are terrible and yeah they may put up some points against Green Bay, but so did Detroit last week. Aaron Rodgers should have a field day.

My Pick: Green Bay -9

Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (-4) - Game of the week in my opinion, I'm very interested to see what will happen. If you're a better, stay away from this game. The Steelers had a rough few games but came back strong last weekend against the Browns. Vikings are 6-0, but 2 of those wins came off a lucky Favre toss and a missed fg by the opposing team. I want the Vikings to win and although it probably won't I believe this game should come down to a fg. If vikings corner back winfield doesn't play Sunday, look for big ben to take advantage and we could see Pitt handing the Vikings their first loss.

My Pick: Vikings +4

New England Patriots vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-15) - The only thing the Bucs had going for them was home field advantage and since this game is in London, there goes that. This game should resemble last weeks Patriots game.

My Pick: Pats -15

San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans (-3) - well if you look at the Texans win/loss so far it looks like this Loss, Win, Loss, Win, Loss, Win ....so that definitely could mean a Texans loss is coming this week against the tough 49ers coming off their bye week. However, the Texans looked great last week, they have everything going , Schaub is looking great and has some dangerous weapons around him with Slaton, Daniels and Johnson. Since week 1 his passing yards have been 357, 300, 224, 371 and 392 yards respectively. If their D can continue to play well, they can definitely pull out a win at home to the 49ers. The 49ers run d has been great but Matt Ryan found how to take advantage and embarrassed them. If they allow Schaub to open up in the passing game, I think they will come away with the W.

My Pick: Texans -3

New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders (+6) - Jets have looked awful the past few weeks and the Raiders are starting to resemble an NFL football team. I personally think their D is underrated, if Jamarcus could put up any type of respectable #s I don't see why the Raiders can't win at home again. If the Raiders were playing the Eagles again, I think the results would come out a little different than they were last week, but this isn't the Eagles, it's the Jets. Sanchez has been throwing INTs like it's his job, Jenkins is done for the season and Jet fans are panicking. Richard Seymour made a claim that the Raiders will go to the playoffs. Let's see if he can back up his talk.

My Pick: Raiders +6

Buffalo Bills vs. Carolina Panthers (-7) - As ESPN says..this is probably the game of the WEAK (get it?). Trent Edwards is out for the Bills...this could actually be a positive thing. Panthers looked like the Panthers last week, yes they beat the Bills, but that isn't saying much. I do believe the Panthers will win this week again against a terrible Bills team but I do think the Bills will keep it close.

My Pick: Bills +7

New Orleans Saints vs Miami Dolphins (+6.5) - Dolphins getting 6.5 at home, it sounds good. However, we saw what the Saints did to the Giants last week who had one of the top 5 defenses in the league. Yes the Dolphins have been playing well the past 2 weeks but they played the Jets and the Bills! I think the Saints with their upgraded D this season and Drew Brees playing how he's been playing, the Saints should blow the Dolphins out, or at least win by a TD.

My Pick: Saints - 6.5

Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys (-4) - The Falcons have been playing great ball...Cowboys...ehhh not so much. They are coming off a bye week, so it's always scary to bet against those teams, cause you never know how they're going to come out and are the Cowboys really as bad as they've been playing? I don't think so, but I do believe the Falcons are as good as they've been playing.

My Pick: Falcons +4

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants (-7) - The Saints exposed the Giants one weakness; their passing defense. Kurt Warner is no Drew Brees but I think the Cardinals definitely took notice to how the Saints took advantage of the Giants last week and will look to do something similar. On the opposite side, the Cardinals have no running game and therefore the Giants will be better prepared for the Cardinals passing game. The Giants are also pissed and have smacked around the Cards in the past. I think the Giants will pull out a win at home, but cover? I'm going to say yes.

My Pick: Giants -7

MNF

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins (-7) - I know it's a division game and people always believe that those games will remain close, and history and statistics have proven that in many cases, that's true. However, I think the Redskins are horrible and the fact that Zorn is no longer calling the plays is definitely not going to help them. That is not their only problem. The Eagles were also embarrassed last week by the Raiders and are looking to do the same to the Redskins. I think the Eagles will have a bounce back game

My Pick: Eagles -7

Good luck to all you betters out there.
