Law Abiding Citizen Review

I am not a professional movie reviewer. Just a normal, law abiding citizen (haha) who enjoys watching movies like the rest of you. Everyone has their own opinion, and if you want to see a movie you should never let a poor review stop you. For example, my friend, who I previously mentioned Scott Klipper literally has the worst taste in movies. I think his top 5 favorites are as follows:

1. The Hills have Eyes
2. The Hills have Eyes 2
3. My Bloody Valentine 3d
4. Flipper
5. Swamp Thing

So any movie he says is bad I automatically run and go see it. Just an example of what I am talking about. Without further adeu, my review:

Premise: Clyde Shelton (Butler) plays a man who helplessly watches his wife and young daughter get brutally murdered. When he goes to court, a hot shot lawyer named Nick Rice (Foxx) decides it would benefit himself more to cut a deal in which one of the assailants gets the death penalty, while the other (guilty assailant) gets released. Shelton disagrees with this outcome and decides to take the justice system into his own hands dealing with anyone who had anything to do with the trial.

My thoughts: This movie is very violent and action packed. I don't really find Jamie Foxx to be believable in this role but think Butler did a great job. Some of the things that take place are a bit far fetched, but if you are going to see the movie due to a love for violent action, which is what the preview targets, then you will probably enjoy this movie. I'm not a huge fan of gore and had to cover my eyes in anticipation of what was to come once or twice. The only thing I would've changed would be the ending but I'm not going to ruin that for you. Overall I give Law Abiding Citizen a 6.5 out of 10.

From looking at upcoming movies, expect my next review to be on the upcoming Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day being released October 30th. As I begin to write more posts, I will try to expand upon my reviews going more in depth. This was my first review and just wanted to keep it short and sweet.
